Traditionally, when an aspiring painter wanted to improve their skills, they would apprentice with a Master. I painted this Duplication a few years ago, while I was studying the epic Seascapes of Winslow Homer.

With thick Italian Wax Medium "impasto" brushstrokes creating waves that seem to churn on the surface, this is the next best thing to owning an original Homer oil painting... Or having a window that looks out on the ocean!

When done correctly a "duplication" should never be a "copy" as much as it is an interpretation, and a documentation of study.

At 24" square, it has a strong presence in a room, and with thick "Gallery Wrapped" edges- it can easily be hung "as is."
